Our History
Founded in 1936, Waukesha Gun Club was established by a group of local sportsmen dedicated to promoting safe, responsible shotgun shooting and preserving the tradition of clay target sports in Southeast Wisconsin. From its earliest days, the club was built on the principles of sportsmanship, education, and community.
As interest in shotgun sports grew, so did the club. Through decades of steady expansion and member-driven improvements, Waukesha Gun Club developed into Wisconsin’s largest shotgun-only shooting facility. The grounds now span nearly 100 acres and feature Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, and enclosed 5-Stand houses, allowing shooters to enjoy the sport year-round in nearly any weather conditions.
Generations of shooters have passed through the club, many of them family members who learned the sport side by side. Youth involvement, training, and mentorship have long been an important part of the club’s culture, helping ensure the future of safe and competitive shotgun shooting.
In addition to daily shooting, Waukesha Gun Club proudly hosts a wide variety of special events throughout the year, including registered shoots, competitive leagues, youth programs, charity fundraisers, corporate outings, and private group events. These events strengthen the shooting community, support local causes, and introduce new shooters to the sport.
For nearly nine decades, Waukesha Gun Club has remained committed to safety, sportsmanship, and fellowship. Today, the club continues to serve members, families, high school teams, and the public while honoring its long-standing traditions and looking ahead to the future of shotgun sports in Wisconsin. New shooters are always welcome, and our friendly staff and members are dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment for those just getting started.
